Korean conflict raises tensions

North Korea shelled a South Korean island on the North-South Korean border on Nov. 23, 2010 unprovoked. The North and South Korean conflict poses a threat for the United States. China states that it has no need to intervene in the conflict that has left two dead, and Korea experts state that the Obama administration must respond strongly to the conflict. Thanksgiving 2010

Every year, the last week of November serves as the first week-long break of the year for students. And this year, Seattle is featuring various activities during this Thanksgiving season. Winterfest will have its twenty-third year in 2010 and will take place Nov. 26 – Dec. 31. This holiday festival always begins the day after Thanksgiving and culminates with a fireworks show by the Space Needle. Zombies are the new vampires in Seattle

A zombie epidemic is spreading, and now, there are over 4,000 record-breaking zombies in the Seattle area. ZomBcon 2010 took place this year Oct. 29-31 in Seattle at the Exhibition Hall. ZomBcon was the first zombie convention of its kind. Seattle sanity rally sparked by pundits

Jim Baum, a farmer who owns land in King County in Washington, has called for a rally to be held at Westlake Park in Seattle on Oct. 30 at 9:00 a.m. It is called the “Rally to Restore Sanity” and has the same name and date of a similar rally being held in Washington D.C.
