Softball hits rough patch in trip to Oregon

The Loggers faced Pacific University in their second doubleheader series of the year. In the previous series, the Loggers split with the Boxers.  This time around however, luck was not on the Logger’s side on Saturday. The Loggers faced its cross town rivals Pacific Lutheran March 23 after Spring Break. The Loggers, who are 3-8 in conference, looked to take the wins from Pacific Lutheran (2-6) who sits close to them in Northwest Conference standings. After a rainout on Saturday against the St. Martins Saints, the Loggers started their season Sunday with a 10-5 loss. The Student Athlete Advisory Committee or SAAC as they are more commonly known is a committee made up of members from each NCAA sports team. SAAC committees are common throughout the Northwest Conference. Logger baseball looks to make jump to top of NWC ranks

The Puget Sound baseball team is coming off a great year. In their previous season the team went 12-12 in conference play and 19-21 in the whole season, many of the returners earned honors. Sophomore Matt Robinson (Lafayette, Calif.) earned second team honors as a freshman pitcher and Senior Dakota Resnik (Bellevue, Wash.), and juniors Casey Coberly (Boise, Id.), Matt Cox (Salem, Ore.), and Will Mentor (Seattle, Wash.) all earned Northwest Conference honorable mention last season.
