A deep look into the career of track star Josh Seekatz

Josh Seekatz (Philomath, Ore.) dominates long distance track and  field in the spring and cross country in the fall. Running track events like the 1500-meter race, the steeplechase and the five kilometer race, Seekatz understands on a fundamentally deep level the focus, determination and will-power it takes to race at a college level, at an intense athletic level. Commencing his track and field and cross country running careers in seventh grade, Seekatz had previously  only competed on swimming and soccer teams. Seekatz took time to adjust. “I sucked,” Seekatz said....

Logger track is sprinting towards greatness

Many Loggers have achieved not only personal bests, but also Northwest Conference Championship qualifications. Although track and field includes many different events where individuals practice among their own groups, the team still remains a cohesive unit where they all grow and improve and make strong connections. Senior Alicia Burns (Spokane Valley, Wash.) is a strong example of how...

The Loggers will not hit the water for the first regatta until March 29, but they have already started their early morning practices in preparation for another great season. The crew teams are some of the most successful teams on campus, but also the least visible due to the nature of the sport. Regattas are early in the morning, or full-day events, and take place off-campus. Home races take place in Lakewood and generally do...
