The Puget Sound women’s soccer team collected their ninth consecutive Northwest Conference title after shutting out Pacific University 2-0 on Friday and Linfield 2-0 as well on Saturday. By finishing the season on a 13-game undefeated streak in conference play, The Loggers improved to 14-1-1 in conference play and 17-1-2 overall. Over the weekend the University of Puget Sound men’s soccer team headed down to Oregon to face the George Fox Bruins and the Pacific Boxers on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 29 and 30. The result was typical of the season thus far as the Loggers recorded a 2-0 win over the Bruins but fell 1-0 to the Boxers. There was no shortage of excitement at the Northwest Conference Cross Country Championships this past Saturday in Lakewood, WA. The Logger men and women have run hard all season in anticipation for this race, which marked the beginning of the postseason for all runners in the conference. The Logger swim teams fared well in their first conference tournament. Friday’s tournament was a pentathlon in which points from five seperate swimming events were combined to result in an overall winner. In the first races, Sophomore Jere Aleksander (Skopje, Macedonia) finished 1st out of the men’s team in the 100 yard IM with a time of 56.70 seconds, good enough for 5th overall.
