Land of the “pretty free”

A few weeks ago, New York City banned sales of soda in containers larger than 16 ounces in an attempt to curb the city's obesity problem. The law was passed by the city's Board of Health, and Mayor Michael Bloomberg widely praised the move. Most bottled sodas come in containers 18 ounces or larger. In August, Australia passed a measure which relegates cigarette packaging to generic, olive green boxes featuring pictures of rotting teeth, heart surgery, and other graphic images. Room to Explore?

On 6 August 2012, while much of the world was sleeping, the global scientific community watched a handful of scientists make history when the Mars Science Laboratory successfully landed on Mars. Radiohead review

A long time ago, before many a Logger had even applied to college, a band called Radiohead graced the state of Washington with a visit during their In Rainbows tour. One of Haydon’s first stops on campus brought him to the Adelphian Concert Choir’s daily rehearsal in the music building. Haydon had been an Adelphian all...

By the time this goes to print, we’ll all be done with class and gearing up for finals. As the semester comes to a close, so does 2011, and with that, the end of yet another Hollywood movie cycle. This year was especially notable for the record-breaking number of sequels produced: 27. Looking at the top ten highest grossing movies of the year, only two were not sequels, The Smurfs and Rio, and only one was a new IP. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Transformers: Dark of...
