Tuition for the academic year is set to increase once again. According to the university’s Budget Task Force (BTF) report, the administration has decided to increase the tuition by 3.75 percent for the 2014-2015 academic year. The tuition for this year was set at $41,640, and the increase will put it at $43,200. Members of the ASUPS Student Senate have officially endorsed the University’s Knowledge, Identity, and Power (KNOW) proposal. The Washington State Senate has recently passed a bill that will seal most juvenile records from employers. House Bill 1651 will essentially hide the criminal records of past offenders once they turn 18 years old. If this bill is approved by the House and signed by the governor, it will become law. In five months, PAC Rim students will be off on a nine month, life changing experience across Asia after two years of preparation. This program, unique to the University of Puget Sound, offers students the opportunity to explore multiple Asian countries. Starting at the end of August, these students, accompanied by faculty, will travel to South Korea, Mongolia, China, Japan, India, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and Taiwan.
