Loggers finish season at Twilight meet

In the final Track and Field event of the season, three lone Logger athletes represented Puget Sound at the Pacific Twilight Meet on May 4 in Forest Grove, Ore., home of Pacific University. Junior Joe Cerne (Enumclaw, Wash.) finished 15th in the discus competition, throwing the discus 36.99 meters (121 feet and 4 inches). He also competed in the pole vault event, but no-heighted with the bar over 13 feet. Men’s lacrosse suffers big loss vs. CWU to finish regular season

Men’s lacrosse here at Puget Sound is one of more than 200 non-NCAA collegiate teams that compete within the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association. A member of the Division II South division of the Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League, Puget Sound lacrosse competes with schools such as Gonzaga, Western Washington, Central Washington and Pacific Lutheran. Second round of golf tourney delayed

This past weekend, April 6-7, both the men’s and women’s Puget Sound golf teams competed in the Northwest Spring Classic at the Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Washington. On the women’s side, freshman Halle Peterson (Boulder, Colo.) led the Loggers after round one with a score of 90 (par +18), which put her in 21st place along with a competitor from Pacific Lutheran University. Logger baseball swept by rival Whitworth

Men’s tennis falls to Whitworth and Whitman over the weekend

This past weekend, men’s tennis made the trek out to Eastern Washington for a weekend of tennis against the Whitworth Pirates and the Whitman Missionaries. Kelsey McKinnis (Ashland, Ore.) finished her Puget Sound basketball career in style on Senior Night, the last Logger home game of the season on Feb. 16, scoring 14 points despite the 71-53 loss to George Fox. Women’s softball entered the 2013 season with high hopes and a brand new head coach, Kellyn Tate. Armed with four veteran seniors, the team also boasts a number of promising freshman players who are expected to make an impact on the Loggers’ future success.
