Good showing for Loggers at NWC Fall Classic

The Loggers’ men’s and women’s fall golf season seemed like it was over before it started. So much hard work from the Loggers out on the green resulted in a very memorable season. The most recent tournament, the NWC Fall Classic, was the last of the fall season and just a sample of what the Loggers did during the season and what is expected to come in the spring. The first day of the Fall Classic found the men’s team one stroke behind Whitworth for the team lead. To the...

Volleyball fights back after tough loss, sweeps conference rivals over weekend

If one were to measure success solely on the wins of a team, then this measure would not tell the whole story of Logger volleyball. It is not just that the Loggers are winning, it is that they are doing so in dominant fashion. The Loggers have won 10 out of their last 13 matches, with all of these wins coming in either a 3-0 or 3-1, in a best of five. They hold an overall record of 15-5, with their home record being 9-1, sending the message that Memorial...

Klein talks cross-country and more

Senior Matt Klein (Portland, Ore.) is a prominent student athlete on campus. When he is not busy running for the cross-country team, he is working hard on his exercise science major and applying to physical therapy schools. I was fortunate enough to sit down with Klein and ask him about the race this past weekend, how the team is doing this year and a little about his personal experiences being the top runner at Puget Sound. Ben Kastenbaum: So tell me about the race this past weekend. Matt Klein: As...

Logger football falls short in hard fought battle against Whittier College

Now, as a longtime football fan and a University of Puget Sound student, logic would tell us that I would have been to a Puget Sound football game by now. While this was the case before Saturday’s game, it is no longer true that I have isolated myself from the excitement that is Logger football. My previous discernments with going to Puget Sound football games were washed away within seconds of walking into the stadium. One can begin to feel the electricity in the atmosphere by just taking a few...
