Volleyball fights back after tough loss, sweeps conference rivals over weekend

If one were to measure success solely on the wins of a team, then this measure would not tell the whole story of Logger volleyball. It is not just that the Loggers are winning, it is that they are doing so in dominant fashion. The Loggers have won 10 out of their last 13 matches, with all of these wins coming in either a 3-0 or 3-1, in a best of five. They hold an overall record of 15-5, with their home record being 9-1, sending the message that Memorial...

It was a weekend of exciting games for the Puget Sound men’s soccer team. Their first game on Saturday, Oct. 21 was against Linfield, and their game on Sunday, Oct. 22 was against Willamette. Saturday’s game proved to be eventful for the Loggers—they easily won the game 2-0 and senior goalie Chris McDonald (Newton, Mass.) tied an all-school record with his 30th shutout. He needs one more shut out to break the school record. Early into the game against Linfield, a free kick gave Linfield an easy chance to score...

They were able to do just that, thanks to a dominating performance that saw them win 16 of the 22 events in the competition. The Loggers set the tone early, sweeping the men’s and women’s 200-yard medley relay. The women’s ‘A’...

Loggers’ comeback falls short against Pioneers

Given that the Loggers have not won a football game since 2010, a losing streak spanning 13 games, it would be easy to write off their matchup against undefeated Lewis and Clark as an automatic loss at the beginning of the Loggers’ conference schedule. Not to mention that the Pioneers’ ever-dangerous no-huddle option offense came into Saturday’s matchup averaging over 30 points per game, and the Loggers’ defense entered the contest having just given up 110 points in their last two games. On the surface, the game on Saturday, Sept....
